I started this blog because there was very little information about the side-effects of long-term juice fasting available in layman's terms - at least that I could find at the time of starting this.
Originally this blog addressed lessons that I had learned over the years. I had hoped that these would help others with what to expect, how to make things taste better, and whatnot. However, long-term, multiple fasts wreaked havoc on my body. (Please note that I qualify this with long-term, multiple.)
I cannot in good conscience leave pages up encouraging people to do what may be just as harmful - or more so - to them as it was for me. Therefore, I have deleted many of the pages and left a few that address some side-effects.
I am not a doctor, dietitian, nutritionist. I am neither paid nor sponsored by anyone, and you will never see my smiling face on an ad for a juicer. I am simply someone who was so desperate to lose weight, reclaim my health, and live a normal life again that I was willing to juice fast.
On a brighter note, I am currently working with a personal trainer (who has a medical background, by the way), and am lifting heavy weights and am eating healthy, balanced, and correctly-portioned food...lots of food! I've had more success with this program than I ever had with juicing and will be posting about this as I reach certain milestones.
